Art Club
(for kids in grades 1 - 2)
Parents, this class is for your child if you feel that kids need more creative experiences! There are 8 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. You are all set once you have paid AND filled out this registration form. These are 2 separate actions.
The focus of my art clubs is on creativity, fun, and love of the arts! I also focus on an exploration of various materials and projects. Some lessons will be based on famous artists and some lessons will be about creative thinking.
I truly believe that children do not get enough art in their lives, even when school is in session full time. Activities can include drawing, painting, printing, sculpting, collage and more!

a brush
white crayon (or other pale colors)
some salt
Sharpie marker

A heart map is a type of art journaling in that it combines art and writing. This class will take your child through a series of verbal prompts from the instructor, allowing her to brainstorm the things she finds most meaningful in her life. Then, we will create a gorgeous piece of art with these ideas, with little pictures and with blended watercolor paints. These come out so cute! (I use "her" but, of course, my classes are not just for girls.)
Supplies needed:
a set of watercolor paints (Crayola and Prang are good)
a brush
Sharpie markers--the more colors the better
paper towels
cup of water
