Join us for a full-day women's art retreat where size does matter!
Through mixed-media, we'll play with scale as we craft both TEENY tiny treasures and OVERSIZED masterpieces.
Take a day just for you at this retreat designed for women who want to relax, recharge, and create. Enjoy a welcoming environment in a whimsical studio.
No experience? No problem! Whether you're a seasoned maker or a curious crafter, you'll enjoy this day of creativity filled with HUGE inspiration.
All materials are provided!
Come DOWNSIZE your stress and SUPERSIZE your joy as you connect with like-minded women, try something new, and make art that's BIG on heart and SMALL on pressure.
SMALL group size (8 spots available), this workshop promises BIG fun!
Tentative Schedule:
9:30--Coffee and Conversation
Come, settle in, meet the others, and relax into the day with a warm drink and pastry.
10:00--Large canvas art piece
11:30--Making mini books with tiny text
12:30--Lunch Break
We'll gather around a large round table and lunch will be provided.
1:30--Make an art journal out of a giant playing card
2:30--Inchies and Faux Postage Stamps
3:30 - 4:00--Finishing Touches and Closing
All supplies, refreshments, water, and lunch are included! Fun surprises along the way!
Space for 8. Must have 5 registered by May 26 in order to run the retreat. If not 5 at that time, you'll be informed of the cancelation and a full refund issued.

Sip, snip, and get creative! Join us for a relaxed and inspiring mixed media collage session at your favorite local café. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just curious to try something new, this class is all about playful creativity, good conversation, and delicious drinks. All materials are provided (and you also have the option to purchase collage elements right at our shop). Just bring yourself and a sense of fun!

This is a fun, relaxing project for anyone. Your instructor, local artist Kerry Molina, will guide you through making the abstract background, the curvy shape of the guitar, and then the wonderful layers of mixed-media magic to embellish your guitar image. No previous art experience is necessary! Just come, bring a friend, and let your creativity out to play!

The Yellow Brick Road Studio’s adult day camp “Joy of the Journey” is a one-of-a-kind, 5-day camp for women who are ready to dedicate some real time to relax, restore and renew. As women, we work and handle, juggle and manage…and we rock at it, don’t we? Now it is time to add in some true self-care.
At YBR, we believe that all of us have buried gifts inside. Like the characters in The Wizard of Oz, we often think we need outside sources to validate us. We tend to let this happen while we are busy taking care of everyone else. Let’s slow down enough to recognize inspiration, reconnect with our inner creative energy and enjoy the journey.

Each day's experience is expertly designed to touch on each purpose listed above, but in a variety of ways so that every day is unique. Expect fun surprises along the way too!
“Joy of the Journey” is the perfect opportunity for someone wanting to tap back into her creativity, awaken her dormant self, get messy and make connections. Give yourself the gift of time and space to connect with your inner visions and express them in a supportive small-group environment.
Last year's theme, "For the Love of Layers!" had us doing creative activities that included:
- Mixed-media painting project on canvas
- Gelli plate printing with stencil work
- Flag book
- Collage with several layers of various papers and napkins
- Poems for Two Voices
[Other past themes have included: Travel, Magic, Grow, Oz, and more. These are available as retreats I could teach anywhere in the world, if you are booking!]
THIS year's theme is "Joy in Full Color"
*Activities are still being planned but you can imagine all the amazing color-themed things we are going to make and do! Stay Tuned!
In the meantime, as always...
- Activities you will do every day:
- make mixed-media art
- enjoy your lunch with the group on a lovely, decorated backyard patio (or inside with AC)
- receive a present or surprise
- connect and forge friendships with the other women and the instructors
- Other wonderful goings-on throughout the week:
- a guest speaker
- personal journaling based on prompts
- writing activities
- mini art history lesson
- a potluck lunch
- an outing: winery picnic, restaurant, nature walk, shopping trip, TBD (not necessarily included)
- closing ceremony and gallery share
- optional after-hours events
- and lots more fun surprises along the way!

*Working on a detailed list! Stay tuned! But you don't need much, I promise. Mostly just bring YOURSELF and an open mind. And a sweater.
- Policies: Spots secured by registration. 8 seats available. At least 4 are needed to run the camp. If you pay and the camp does not run, you will receive a full refund.
- If the camp fills and there is further interest, I may run another week.
- DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS JUNE 22, 2025.
- Cancellation: Refunds are given (minus $100 cancellation fee) if the cancellation is made at least two weeks prior to the first day of the camp. Refunds are not given for days not attended. You may transfer your spot if you find someone to fill your space.
- Late registrations are allowed if the camp is not full. A $100 late fee will be added to any camp registration received after the first meeting.
- Should a student miss a class due to personal conflicts, sickness or prior engagement the instructors are not required to offer make-up lessons to that student.
- There is a cat and a dog on the premises (mentioned for allergy concerns).

- Please do not come to class if you have been experiencing any illness.
- Local hotel and restaurant information will be provided should you be coming from out of town.

These paper dolls are uniquely creative. There will be plenty of papers and do-dads to use so the sky's the limit when it comes to what you add to these curious peeps. These funky collages will look great as embellishments in your journal, on greeting cards, or just as stand-alone artworks.
There are 8 spaces available. Need at least 4 to hold the class. If, by 6/11, the class is not full, you will receive notification and a full refund.
What is "Girls' Night Art!" ??
These classes are definitely NOT just for those who already call themselves artists. Everyone is welcome. These classes ARE for you if you want to get back in touch with your creativity. If you want to relax and enjoy some fun with art supplies. If you enjoy making and want to keep up with that practice. If you like to get out of the house, meet other fabulous gals and get together with like-minded women. Another option is to host one at your place!
Sorry, no-shows, we can't do refunds. If you can't make it, the spots are transferrable, so you could see if a friend wants your spot.

Art journaling takes plain long-handed diary-writing to a more playful level. Adding bits of art loosens up the feel of the journal and injects some color and fun. There are no rules, but I will be giving you lots of ideas and prompts along the way. Each class will be different. We will dive into memories of our past, current thoughts and feelings, and goals for the future. We will record ordinary experiences, momentous occasions and everything in between. All the while exploring design through paint, ink, collage and more. Bring your journal or just work on loose paper.
This is definitely NOT just for those who already call themselves artists. Anyone can enjoy this. Come find out about this relaxing way to get back in touch with your creative side.

A gelli plate allows you to create beautiful prints without a press, using materials anyone has in their studio or can gather. This monotype printing process employs a brayer and is something that is easy, fun and freeing. It creates papers perfect for journaling and collage. You never know what you’re going to get, and you'll love the myriad of textures and patterns! No experience needed.
All supplies included. (If you have things you want to bring to share--stencils or mark makers, for example--that is great.)
We'll make lots of papers and you'll also leave with at least one gorgeous greeting card.
Warning: Gel printing is addictive!
