Star-Spangled Still Life
Settle in for a creative session inspired by the colors and charm of summer. Using a festive Americana still life—think flags, florals, and vintage touches—you’ll learn easy, approachable tips for creating an image of what you see. We can add text as well, to complete your journal page (or loose piece). This class is all about relaxing, experimenting, and enjoying the process.
Bring your favorite journal and basic supplies and feel free to dress patriotic.
Carve out this block of time for just you--to write and create beautiful pages ABOUT you.
Just starting out?
Here are some tips:
Journal--just make sure it has thick paper, like watercolor paper or mixed-media paper). OR loose pages--you don't HAVE to work in a journal! Just come anyway!
Your instructor will provide prompts to get you thinking about your past, present and future. Every class is different. Sometimes the topic is timely, sometimes thought-provoking about your upbringing, sometimes dreams for the future, sometimes lighter and fun.
You'll learn art techniques that we'll use to go along with our journaling. Further expressing yourself using color, texture and composition.
All the materials you'll need to use will be provided but please feel free to bring your stash as well! (Some journalers like to start a stash of their own pens, Sharpies, magazine clips, stickers, etc. to bring to classes.)
