The challenge: Create a handmade journal out of 99% JUNK!
In this course, we will make actual journals that you can use later. Some of my handmade journals get full of arty goodness and there's little room for writing later. I end up calling those art books/art journals. How much blank space you leave in a handmade book is always up to you.
Start dumpster-diving! Just kidding!
Do start collecting the following and bring to the first class:
- a cake-mix sized box
- a pudding-mix sized box
- any other cool boxes (the ones with clear windows are great!)
- bill envelopes that have windows
- receipts, wrappers, tickets, programs, junk mail
- old book pages that fell out
- your child's worksheets or coloring sheets
- birthday card envelopes
- stamps
- losing scratch-offs
- you get the idea!
The rest of the materials will be provided to you! I'll make a sample to put in the picture above.
