Two projects in one!
We will make a book/journal in the theme of your choice and an accompanying box to keep it in!
You will have so much fun during this 8-week course making the pages of your book, decorating its cover and painting and embellishing your book box.
You will receive the blank book which includes 2 covers, 2 rings and 6 chipboard pages. You can use these or make your own covers and/or pages.
You will also receive the wooden hinged box with magnetic closure.
Depending on how fat your book gets, you may also be able to add other little things to your box as your theme directs.
For example, if your theme is the ocean, you could put in some shells. If your theme is a particular person, you can add in some photographs or notes.
A few more theme ideas to get your juices flowing: travel, my childhood, a color, nature, a holiday, gratitude, quotes, poems, bucket list, artists, notes to self, family tree, a few of my favorite things.
The sky is the limit and I am bursting with excitement to hear what themes you come up with. You'll need to have your theme all set before the course begins. You'll need to bring your own papers and embellishments that go with your theme. In the studio, you will have access to the basics like paint, glue, scissors, tissue paper, etc. so no need to bring those.
At the beginning of each class, a technique will be shared that you can incorporate into your project should you wish. The materials for each technique will be provided. Examples include gel plate printing, embossing, texture pastes with stencils and more. At the end of the last class, we will have a gallery share where the projects will be set up, shared and photographed. We will also have a toast to our creative selves and there may even be cake involved, as it will be the instructor's birthday. :)
The dates for the class are
May 9, 16, 23 and 30 and June 6, 13, 20 and 27.
7 - 9 PM
Must register by midnight Saturday, May 4, 2019.
