Art journaling takes plain long-handed diary-writing to a more playful level. Adding bits of art loosens up the feel of the journal and injects some color and fun. There are no rules, but I will be giving you lots of ideas and prompts along the way. We will dive into memories of our past, current thoughts and feelings, and goals for the future. We will record ordinary experiences, momentous occasions and everything in between. All the while exploring design through paint, ink, collage and more.
You bring a bound pad of paper (make sure it has thick paper, like watercolor paper or mixed-media paper) OR loose pages--and your instructor will provide prompts to get you thinking about your past, present and future. You'll learn techniques on how to express yourself using color, texture and composition.
All the materials you'll need to use will be provided but please bring your stash as well! (Some journalers like to start a stash of their own pens, Sharpies, magazine clips, stickers, etc. to bring to classes.)
Carve out this block of time for just you--to write and create beautiful pages ABOUT you.
This is definitely NOT just for those who already call themselves artists. Anyone can enjoy this.
